Thoughts on Cadel Evan's Tour de France Victory
First thing that came to mind with Cadel Evan's victory in the Tour do France was the founding idea of the Olympic movement - that you don't host these major sporting events for the glory of the athletes. But rather for the thousands and millions of people that these major feats inspire to better themselves. Bike shops in Sydney are reporting a major uptick in people coming in to purchase or upgrade their bikes, improve their health, get fit, and strive to achieve other things in their lives.
Second thing that came to mind is a "quote" (which I can't locate) from a "US judge" who says that when he opens the morning paper, the first section he looks at is the Sports section - because that's full of stories about people doing their best. And these days, those are the kinds of stories we need. The negative narrative in the media these days is almost insufferable, and so for someone to break through that cycle with a positive story is perhaps as epic, if not more, then skying the Alps in pursuit of your best self. (All pun intended...)

Climate R3 Storify Recap
Below is a quick recap of the Climate R3 workshop from the Twitter perspective. A modest impact, but nice to see a couple of connections made.
Hello World! Goodbye Shuttle!
Here is my first attempt at a Storify entry - topic obviously on the end of the Shuttle program. You can find some of my views here as well.
